About this event
Our inaugural gathering at the Flag Hotel Convento do Desagravo in Vila Pouca da Beira, Oliveira do Hospital, launched Beira Network: a non-profit business network founded by Luís Filipe Freire, Arnold ter Horst and Leonardo Hofman to bring together companies, professionals and local and international communities in the interior of Portugal. Local and international entrepreneurs met over drinks and petiscos to talk about the business potential of the region, explore opportunities and build lasting relationships. The founders spoke about connecting active people from different sectors so they can help each other through their networks, and about planting a seed for the development of the region. Arie Pos, president of the cultural foundation Het Komrijk, represented the cultural side of the network. The mayor of Oliveira do Hospital, José Francisco Rolo, attended and welcomed the initiative, pointing to the many foreign communities living in the municipality and the importance of regional economic development. The evening laid the foundation for the network's regular gatherings, where professionals from every sector meet to help revitalise the region, attract investment, export local products and form new partnerships.
